How to Locate Your Domain in Squarespace

Understand exactly where and how to find your domain details within Squarespace, whether you're using the auto-generated built-in domain, a domain you registered through them, or one connected from elsewhere.

Why this matters

You may need your domain to manage DNS, renew it, connect email services, or transfer it. Knowing exactly where it lives in your Squarespace account makes everything faster and more reliable.

Step 1: Log into your Squarespace account

Head to your Squarespace dashboard and select the website associated with the domain you want to locate.

Step 2: Go to your Domains panel

Navigate to Settings → Domains (accessible via the main sidebar). This screen lists all domains connected to your site, whether built in or hosted elsewhere

Step 3: Review your domains

On this page you will find:

  • Your built-in domain (your unique until-you-change-it Squarespace URL ending in .squarespace.com)

  • Any custom or connected domains (including those registered directly with Squarespace or added through third parties).

Step 4: Manage or examine a domain

Click on any domain name to open its domain details page. From here you can handle everything central to domain management:

  • Auto-renew settings

  • Registration data

  • DNS records or presets for email and website pointing

  • Forwarding, nameservers, WHOIS privacy, and more.

Bonus Tip: Not seeing your domain?

If your domain doesn’t appear:

  • It might be associated with a different Squarespace account

  • It could be managed entirely by an external provider and therefore isn’t connected to your site

  • You may have registered it elsewhere but never linked or transferred it into Squarespace.

Summary

  1. Sign in to Squarespace and select your site

  2. Go to Settings → Domains to see all associated domains

  3. Click any domain to access full control over settings and DNS

  4. If it’s missing, double-check access or previous linking methods
